The assignment, going solo.
To design a progressive premium experience and Imagine the future of single, compact living in vibrant urban settings like New York, Munich, Mumbai and Hong Kong.
Approach
We were tasked to analyse the assigment from the emotional lens
of a single 30+ Male in Munich, and for this we created Lukas"
The solution
Electrolux Adapted is a premium hub that uses vertical space to organise small kitchen appliances through modules which can be mounted on a backplate providing each module with water and electricity, allowing for highly customizable arrangements.
All modules are connected via the Electrolux app, allowing the user to create personal routines.
Hallo ich bin die persona Lukas!
Lukas a single father with bi-weekly care for his 3 year old daughter Nina.
Lucas makes his living as a self enployed densist and runs a small clinic in central Munich.

Modular Appliance Hub
Based on group discussions and external feedback from tutors and Electrolux designers we as a group decided to pursue concept nr 1 the appliance hub.

Introducing Electrolux ADAPTED
Electrolux ADAPTED is a system meant to grow and evolve with the user.
Adapting to their ever-changing needs over time. Having future ownership models in mind.
When an upgrade is due, the module can be sent back to Electrolux for refurbishment.

In order for all modules to have a coohesive design language we quickly realised that we needed to create a internal design identity for the modules,
The grid was used to align all of the visual design elements to avoid the impression of visual clutter.
